Was established circa 1985 at the first St. Vincent Liem's Church located in Inglewood in Calgary to deliver Catechism for children.
Since 2015, Ban Giáo Lý has been delivering classes out of St. Vincent Liem's new location and has expanded to include:

Catechism classes for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8
-
Volunteer/youth leadership development program - "Teacher Assistant (TA)" for youths in Grades 9 through 11
-
Catechist/leadership development program - "Giáo Lý Viên (GLV)" for young adults in Grades 12 through Post-secondary and in later life
Ban Giáo Lý is proud of our heritage as a Vietnamese language, Catholic program that has expanded and evolved throughout the years; and we are thankful for the contributions and support of over four generations of Vietnamese Canadian volunteers, clergy, and families in our community.

JPII was re-established in 2024 by Peter Pius Chu, O.P. "Thầy Nam"
focuses on developing young adults aged 16 to 30 by following our
"Three Pillars" approach:

Fostering learning and understanding of Catholic teachings (Intellectual)

Providing opportunities for spiritual development and encounters with God (Spiritual)

Bringing the youth together and encouraging them to be active members and leaders in our community (Social)
